A Little Outta Place

Inspired by the Woodshed song of the same name

I wrote this one on a late winter night.

Things were heavy.

The kind of night where the house is quiet, the coffee has gone cold, and your mind decides it's the perfect time to sort through years of memories.

Some good.

Some difficult.

Some better left alone.

As I sat there thinking about all the roads I've walked, the people I've met, and the places life has taken me, one thought kept coming back:

I've spent a lot of my life feeling a little outta place.

Not in a bad way.

Just different.

More comfortable in the woods than in a crowd.

More interested in stories than small talk.

More at home beneath the moon than beneath fluorescent lights.

And I have a feeling I'm not the only one.

This candle is for the wanderers.

The old souls.

The dreamers.

The people who have never quite fit the mold and eventually stopped trying to.
